I don't understand why people are willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for what is, in essence, a mutt/mongrel. Do you get it? I don't.

I don't get it either. If I want a mixed breed dog, I'll find one at the shelter, not pay huge amounts for them. Ridiculous!

I presume you're talking about those "odd" pseudo-pedigreed things, where people are paying $1000 or more for a "dwarf Husky," or a Poodle with short legs? I agree that's insanity, considering how many poor animals are euthanized at shelters, every year. What bugs me even more is that the people who buy these "designer dogs" often do so because they fit some kind of "image," and NOT because they actually love animals.

I see we're on the same page. :-) You know the type that likes to carry their dog around in their purse.

Definantly NOT, its ridiculous , and to top it off they give them the most pathetic names to try and make it sound good like they are some sort of breed ????? ((labradoodle, etc....) why dont they just get over it and call it a mutt.

Unless your an animal lover you cant understand. Its not just a "dog" its a living being. I love my dogs as part of my family and i would be lost without them, the joy they can bring to your life is unexplainable

I love animals, I have 2 dogs, 10 cats, 4 parrots. I don't understand why people are purposely breeding mongrels and selling them for high prices. There are plenty of GREAT dogs (mongrels and purebreds) without homes in shelters that are being euthanized because there aren't enough homes for them. Myself, I would never support such a practice, I rescued one of my dogs from a shelter and I think that is the first place one should look for a pet.
