In Indian wedding, the bridegroom comes in an open car from a temple and after entering the marriage hall, other ceremonies take place. The bride will be feeling shy and will be sitting in her room, till he comes on the stage. But every girl will certainly want to see how her groom looks in the open car with a procession around. But cannot express her desire as others may ridicule her. But my sister_in_law took me to the balcony of the marriage hall and kept me in a dark corner and made me see my would be husband in the open car procession. The funniest part is that even my husband out of so many people around, saw me in that dark corner and smiled at me. It was thrilling.

Thanks friend for selecting my response as best. In fact the pleasure is mine. You made me go through my marriage, which took place 31 years ago, once again and get the thrill out of it. God bless you.

My purpose to start the discussion was precisely what you have stated. Good to know that you have been married for the last 31 years (hopefully successfully).

My first wedding sucked. I wore a pretty dress, but it certainly wasn't what I wanted to wear. My husband was not in a pleasent socialble mood (he never was honestly) and we just did not have a good time at all. My second wedding was great. It was all about me and him and us getting married. We got married on a bridge over a waterfall and the only people that could hear the ceremony were the officiant (a woman shaman by the way), my brother who was the best man, and my best friend, who was the matron of honor, and me and my husband. We didn't mic it, or even try. I gave everyone scripts so they could try to follow along. It was so private and personal, and yet all of our family was there to share it with us, and we had so much fun! We were goofing around and being silling and all kinds of stuff like that. It was great.

On Our Wedding Day - My husband and I, on our way out of the church :)
Well I was 1 hour late to the ceremony (no one has ever forgotten that) and to this day I don't remember a single word the Minister said at the altar. I kinda went blank when he was talking and didn't take notice of anyone around me except my wonderful, good looking husband standing in front of me. I do remember the beautiful church we got married in, the lovely reception and all the decorations which were done by my husband's family and all the work that my sister and best friend did to make my day a special day. Not forgetting the beautifully made samoan tatau patterned wedding dress that my Aunt made. We also have our wedding album to help us remember our beautiful day.
