are you just posting or maintaining quality in your posts on mylot?

i have been observing that while there are really good informative posts with equally quality and added edifying responses thereon, there are many posts that are just posted because you have to post and without much sense at all. honestly i admit that i didnt initially respond by adding quality but only simply responding unaware. but after a week i have tried post and respond qualitatively and trying to improve upon after each post and response. ARE YOU REALLY MAINTAINING QUALITY IN YOUR POSTS AND RESPONSES? OR JUST POSTING AND RESPONDING AS AN EXERCISE TO MEET YOUR TARGETS?

I really do try to only post about things I know about or have something to say. I'm not a one or two line poster. Now granted I haven't made a fortune on here yet, but it's fun nevertheless. And I've found in many of my discussions that people ARE actually posting about what they know about for the most part. Which is nice, keeps the integrity of this forum. I'm still learning a lot since I'm fairly new but so far I've enjoyed reading, responding and starting my own posts. I hope mylot can continue to be a great place to come. Just makes it even sweeter that they pay you. =)

well said and true mizcheez. every response that is made need to be some value unless one is scribbling a few words to keep their meter running. now learning is a never ending process till our last drop. and no doubt mylot has indeed the potential to pile up ones knowledge base.

Yes, ofcourse I am. When I enter to a discussion, I try to give my best response, and to give a full explanation if needed. I am trying to do my best so the poster of the discussion will be statisfied with my response, and maybe mark me as: "Best response". I am here to help members, and to share my opinions.

i was really careless about it.i used to just respond to whatever i could discussion.and then mylot deducted money from.then i became careful and now i try to maintain the quality of my posts and resposes.i only respond to discussions where i think i have something to say about.and try to be honest about it.i honestly can't say that it improved my earnings ,but mylot has not deducted money from me after that.

I try to keep up with quality. I really do. Sometimes it's hard when I'm making a post and I really can't find the right thing to say, but I still have something to say, so I'll say it anyway regardless of the quality. Sometimes it just happens.

I have not started a lot of discussions but i try to answer all my friends discussions...I have some friends that will post maybe 20 discussions per day and I spend a lot of time answering their discussions..I really think some of them are just doing it to post and not really such a good one..When I do open a discussion I want to open a good one and i don,t open one unless i think it is a quality discussion...If a discussion does not interest me ,I have to admit ,I do answer but mostly responding because some of the things they post,I know nothing about...

Examples of some discussions I have answered.."what did your dog do today? now how do you respond to that? what if you don't have a dog?Or some will say I went shopping and found a good buy, well its very hard to answer with quality to that kind of discussion, don't you agree? If a person opens a quality discussion(like this one) its easy to get involed in a post like this, but some post are not quality ans some are just dull.I think they do it just to earn and not really interested.however I do run into some very good ones,I look for good ones..

do you think the posts that make no sense also earn. i doubt about them because of the ranking they are maintaining even after reaching 5000 score.

i am currently experimenting in upping the quality of my responses and only answering to quality discussions to see if it really will up my earnings. Well, initial results, over one month, seem to suggest that answering a few quality discussions with good answers, does nothing to enhance your earnings other than cut them quite dramatically. So I think i might go back to doing 1 or 200 poor quality answers , that way i earn more.

Hi, I too started a similar discussion titled "Discussion for money or to discuss" but due to my ignorance, instead of MyLot, I posted it in the general catagory and I received zero response. Anyway you are lucky to post it here and inprove your 'totalearnings'. I normally start or respond to discussion with my own views about the subject. I take it as a serious and informative excercise. I want to know various view points by responders with which i could assess a general trend on a particular subject. I also used to check the profile of responders who post positive responses which helps me to evaluate as to how one particular response was formed depending on the culture, living style of the country of the responder.

when i first joined mylot,i posted indiscriminately with the sole aim of notching up my posts count. man,i thought, what could be easier than stringing a few sentences together and earning in the process. but boy was i wrong! true,i was increasing my tally but i wasnt satisfied with what i had been churning out.so now, before replying to any new discussion, i make sure that i can contribute meaningfully to it. i take time to think about it,try to put my thoughts down in a coherent manner and reread what i put down. this is definitely more cumbersome but much more gratifying. there's no better feeling than the feeling of knowing you have done something right. but right now i'm pretty much torn between continuing with this approach, for i recently read somewhere that posting a minimum of 3-4 lines per post is enough to keep the mylot administrators happy and that its sufficient to keep making money...but i guess i am gonna stick with this approach rather than typing up perfunctory responses.

Hello, totalearnings. Sometimes, it will took me half an hour just to locate a discussion of my preference. I always have to bang my head just to be able to give sensible response. I do love the exercise, but not for the money. I admit the money was what dragged me here first. But lol...this site surely helps stimulate my brain sensory. This is a good site for people who like to exercise their brain.

i try to respond to discussions that i hope i can make a contribution to but to be honest i do think that if there was nothing i could contribute to and it is a case of earning or not i would try to answer even if it did not fully make sense.

I try, really. I strive, truly. I endeavor, very much! As much as possible, I try to word wit and quality into my posts. I do post for the sake of posting too - since getting my count up is always nice. But quite often, you can see me replying with long replies that are definitely not cut-and-paste affairs if I feel that the discussions warrant them. ;-)

I hope there is really quality in the post I made, at least that's what I think. Othewise, either it is skipped or the response is not submitted. At times, I try to respond to topics which dry up my brain juice. At times, it is to give moral support :)

I hope I'm posting quality and not worrying much about quantity. I am certainly trying hard to make sure each post contributes something to the site. I like seeing my number go up - who doesn't? - but not because I'm posting nonsense or one liners. In fact, I'm not sure that I've even posted a one liner at all.

Nobody is forced to post on here they do it because that is the easiest way to earn. I will only do a Discussion if I can put a decent one up. I will not respond to a post that to me looks like a waste of time. There are a few on here that just post all the time and they do not make any sense at all, as all that they are interested in is posting as they think they are earning a lot of money.

I maintain quility in my posts or at least I try to. Even when I am answering a simple post I try and make it as informiative as I can. I do admit when it is getting closer to the end of the month I will respond to some of the more simple ones. I do however try and respond with quilty. Those are the ones that I get paid the most for and I feel better after responding to them that way.

It's all about quality! Quality discussions lead to quality responses. I only answer those discussions that I know something about- I have something to add. Otherwise I'm just as bad as the next person who is posting 10-20 discussions in a 10 minute span. Looking around today on mylot-- I see alot of bogus discussions. I am having a hard time finding things I want to respond to. Come on people - post quality things here. Besides mylot personnel delete the posts that do not follow the rules and non-quality ones as well.

I try to post only things that I think will interest other people, or questions that I genuinely need the answers to. I figure if you start posting trite crud, no one will respond anyway, so it is a bit of a waste. As for responses, I respond because it is fun or I have something interesting to add.

I don't even think about my targets when it comes to posting discussions and responses. I don't post many discussions, but I do post a lot of responses. If I feel that I can add something to the discussion, like an experience I had or maybe a little trick or two that I've tried in the past, then why not? I'm not one of those that posts just for the sake of making my 2 or 3 cents to add to my earnings - and besides, when I'm making more money with my blog also, why would I post just to earn here? I hate those who post just to earn. They make it so obvious that they haven't completely read the discussion at hand.

I believe the whole key to this business,(and it is a business)is to maintain quality when responding or originating a discussion. I don't think anyone, most of all the people who run mylot, are fooled by those who have nothing of substance to contribute. I just started on here yesterday, yet I've already grasped the point that quality is the key when it comes to success with this type of endeavor. I'm curious however. You said you started out without the best quality you are capable of and than changed your approach. Did you notice a big difference in income when you began paying closer attention to quality?
