Hello mic_tcs.....
I have been buying and selling on ebay a little over three years to thin out some of my duplicate items and so I can buy material that I interested in. I also offer free and trade items to help beginners and to get some covers/envelopes from many countries. Check my discussions to see my offer of free items if you are interested.

Yea, there is. Once in last year, I saw a small kid buying stamps in a stamp exhibition. So there are still people out there who buying stamps for their collection.
I think whether you interested in collecting or not is depending on whether you continue to collect stamps once you start this hobby. Some just stop halfway, but some never stop ever since their primary school. SO for those who buying the stamps, I don't think there's problem about it as some of them are really interested in collecting stamps.

i certainly don't have plans to sell my collection, but one day i'd like to have my doubles organised well enough to be able to sell them. sometimes i give away some of my doubles to new collectors though.

I tried to get my daughter interested in collecting stamps when she was still in elementary school but she never really took an interest in it. I spotted several packets I bought her when I was cleaning out the storage unit and actually considered selling them but didn't have a clue as to how I would do that. LOL

I'll only sell duplicate stamps too! But I don't have an account on ebay to do it so...I still have the duplicates.
