What was the worse allergic reaction you every had? Or how about this, the strangest or the funniest? I am allergic to a few things one being Mabaline Masacara. I tried it for the first time when I was 15 and I was going out on my first two couple date and BAM I eyes swelled shut. What a site, though I really could not see it. The doctor said just don't use it any more. LOL

I would say that the worst reaction I had was to shrimp. It was strange because prior to then I only ever had a small reaction to flounder and catfish. But one night while eating steak and shrimp my lips went numb and swelled like they do when I eat one of the aforementioned fish, so I stopped. About five minutes later I was feeling nauseous. By the time I got home I had broken out into hives, my stomache was in knots, and my arms, hands, feet, face, and neck had swelled to about twice their size. I had to take a does of penicilian and take an ice bath in order to get the swelling to go down and the hives to retreat. It was horrible. I found out that now I have to have fish cooked a certain way, ala deep fat fried and the like in order to get the enzymes that make me sick out of it. This is especially annoying since I love sushi and can no longer eat it.

I have so many allergies, that they are written down. The worst was an ivp test. I went into cardiac arrest. I also was allergic to an anti biotic, and my tongue swelled up I could swollow. The funniest was when I ate an orange. I am allergic to the inside rind, and didn't know it. My mouth, lips, gums and tongue started itching and my mouth swelled up so big, I looked like a monkey. My lips were huge.

O my you poor thing, I haven't come across anything that I am allergic to as yet, I think I come from a pretty strong stock, my Mother would have put that down to the fact that me and my sister played in the gutters so that makes us strong enough to handle anything...:)

I went to my allergist for testing. He did "provocation" tests (they stick you and wait to see if you react. I got stuck with 4 insect poisons, bee, wasp, scorpion & ant. I got a big reaction to the ant and a lesser one to the scorpion (I've never been wasp or bee stung.) The doctor just didn't believe it was ant sting until the nurse dropped the paperwork in front of him. He then asked if I ever had any problem breathing after getting stung by an ant. No, I replied, but it I touch the area up to a month later I'll come back just as bad as the first time.

My strangest allergic reaction would have to be shrimps and crabs. Whenever I eat them I always have this itchy sensation down my throat. Too bad though 'coz I really like eating shrimps and crabs.

Wow, my list just keeps growing it seems. Mine is penicillin...I landed in the ER last year for that one. Now it seems I'm allergic to certain foods now like cheddar. Seems every chip out there contains cheddar in it. And then the latest one I'm dealing with as of now is Splenda (sucralose)...seems it was in some stuff that I drank and also that pro health crest mouthwash crap and then of course the toothpaste...it has nasty side affects to it. I don't wish this on anyone. I'll be heading to an allergist soon to see what i actually can handle. Some makeup products like the eye shadows..i can't remember what brand makes my eyes water. that's horrible about your eye swelling shut!

Had a person come to my house who had just taken Wheat grass as a toxin cleanse. After a few minutes their face started to swell and their eyes were almost swollen shut and their tongue got so thick that they couldn't talk. They later found out that the wheat grass had triggered a dormant wheat allergy and they haven't been able to eat bread or any wheat products since then.

I am allergic to bees, and this one time a few years ago I went to drink some soda, and a bee was in the can. It stung my tongue and it swelled so big I couldn't close my mouth. SO I sat in the car with my tongue hanging out. My cousin said he'd take me to the hospital and let me drive to make me laugh.

We both have the same allergy to the same brand of mascara! my eyes swelled shut too, but the first time it happened, I did'nt realize it was from the mascara. I thought it was from something else, since my eyes are very sensitive anyway. After a week of antibiotics, everything was cleared up, so I put on the mascara again. my eyes swelled shut in less than an hour! So, needless to say, that tube went straight into the trash!

When I was in junior high, it was quite common to share make-up. In doing this I contracted pink eye for the first time, right before the start of Christmas vacation. My mother took me to the doctor where I received a prescription for some sort of sulfa drops to clear it up. They said I should be better in a few days. I wasn't I spent the entire Christmas vacation in dark as light of any kind hurt my eyes. It was quite gross and I won't go into all the details of it but finally my mom took me back to the doctors where it was deemed that I was having a violent allergic reaction to the medicine. They then told my mother to get me some natural tears and with in 2 days my eyes were better. The worst Christmas I ever had. I learned a valuable lesson though and NEVER shared make-up again. :)

I know what you mean =) I tried a new eyeliner and blusher one summer and my cheeks swelled up. What's even funnier was that it was just one side of my cheeks!
