My ex husbands daughter is 12 and this woman keeps slapping her around, she has been staying with me since January 12 and now they are telling her she needs to go back home, she doesn't want to. Children and Youth are doing nothing, because evil stepmom is friends with one of the caseworkers. What is your opinion on this subject???

Okay mom has a friend thats a caseworker, so you need to take it to the next level. Remember everyone answers to someone, so keep going up the chain of people in command. As for slapping her around, I dont feel a child of 12 will learn anything truly by being hit they are to old by then and other methods of punishment are found to be more useful, example, grounding, taking away her phone privledges, etc. You do not say why she is being hit, Is she bad? Not that this would excuse it. Being a step mom in the past I was never comfortable with dealing out his punishments. Do not get me wrong there where times when I would do the time outs, etc. But I think anything over that should be handled by the bio-parent. I would suggest also contacting an attorney and they will direct you in the right course of action for your state to over Children and Youth. Good luck to you.

I don't like to hear children being slapped, I really do there are other ways, I think a stepmother is only making her own life hard as this sort of action is not going to go down to well with a stepchild...There should be another way rather than slapping I think...
