Do you eat dinner at the same time every night? We usually eat around 6pm. It's usually around the same time each night.

I get home from work shortly after 5 p.m., and we usually eat within half an hour after I get home. This is actually later than we used to eat, because at my old job, I got home right after 4 p.m., and we would still eat within half an hour.

we eat dinner at 7pm because that is the only time that our family can eat together and talk of what happens on that day for each and everyone.

We used to eat at varied times. Now we eat about 6:30 almost every night. This is due to my husbands new job and he gets off at 6:00 on the days that he works. WE are trying to make this a "standard" eating time so we have some consistancy for the kids and to discourage snacking later.

My mother always served dinner at 6pm sharp and I have always felt that was the way to go. My husband grew up with a different dinner hour so he starts snacking at 5pm when I'm in the middle of preparing dinner. That's when he is home, of course. Lately, because of my obsession with myLot, I haven't been getting dinner on the table on time. It has been closer to 6:30. It is difficult because on the days my husband works days, he works 7am to 7pm which means he gets home around 7:30. So we eat dinner without him and he eats when he gets home. When he works nights (7pm to 7am) we have to eat by 6:00 because he has to leave around 6:30 or so. Three days a week my eldest daughter has Taekwondo at 6:30pm and will not eat beforehand (for obvious reasons). But she will ask to be driven the minute we sit down to dinner. So I either plan ahead and have dinner ready a few minutes early so one of us can eat before driving her, or she waits until we're finished, or my younger daughter and I will sit down and eat and my husband will eat after he drops her off (it's a five minute drive). I am a stickler for routine so this has upset my schedule and drives me bananas. So sometimes I say to heck with dinner. And this is why I don't make dinners very often. LOL!

As we are trying to create some sort of routine for my little boy, we always eat dinner at the same time everyday about 6pm. That would allow my husband to spend more time with him. Normaly he would play with him little bit after dinner then bring him him to bed...xx

Varies hugely in this house when we eat, depending on who's going where, or doing what before or afterwards. When hubby has a band practice we eat early (around 6:15) as he gets in at 5 past 6 and leaves at 7pm. When nothing is happening in the evening we'll eat somewhere between 7 and 9 normally.

I try to eat between 4pm and 5pm every night. I have young children who go to bed early. The youngest goes up between 6pm and 7pm. I don't like them going to bed on a full stomach so we neeed to eat relatively early to give her food time to settle before bedtime.
