I lived in a neighborhood with some woods behind us. I would take my dog and a machete and take off into the woods every day for hours. Way back in there, me and sometimes my friends would find paths, a giant swinging vine, a ditch with the remains of a car in it (that was maybe the oddest thing), and all kinds of cool stuff. I actually tried going into those woods as an adult once, but they are completely overgrown now, and the magic is lost. I miss that nature-ish part of my childhood...

Hi Umair627, Because I was truly blessed as a child, this is a very endearing question for me. So, thanks for making me smile. I was so blessed to have a great family. I'm the youngest, but have not one horror story about older sibblings picking on me. On the contrary, my sibblings treated me so very well. To this day I still cannot believe how fortunate I am. Life was not without it's trials and tribulations, but my family unit was strong and deeply loyal. My Father was the greatest man I have ever known, and he instilled his most admirable traits into all of his children. When I was 10 my parents went out of town. And, quite naturally mischief ensued. My older brother was a senior in high school at the time. And, you know what they say about when the cat's away ... the mice will have a big 'ol bash. The question of what to do with the 10 year old never came up. Each of his friends was instructed to treat me with the utmost respect, or they'd be out on their fannies (I'm definitely cleaning up the wording of the threat). What a great time we all had. And, how that action deepened the bond between my brother and I. It remains so today. The laughs come very easily, the loyalty is so deep it cannot be measured, and the respect is unfaltering. It's really wonderful when you have a sibbling who you would easily choose as a best friend. The happy memories definitely outweigh the sad. And, even those that were really bad were never more than we could handle, as long as we had each other.
