How do I make Chicken Animals?

My kids nagged until I got them some Bernard Matthews Dinosaurs. Not that I have anything against the company, I am a little concerned. The pack states improved recipe, lower salt, no artificial colurs, flavours or preservatives. With 39% turkey, they are still 21.7g fat - and 327 calories per 100g. They seem quite a bright orangy yellow breadcrumb too. At 2 dinosaurs (approx 100g)each is that still a lot of fat? I think it may be. I have made fishcakes before and have no problem mixing fish with a little potatoe and glueing breadcrumbs with egg. How would I do this with chicken/turkey? Do I need to cook the meat first? Any recipe ideas please?

the ideas here are brilliant. just like to add though. I have a hell of a lot against the company, I really do. factory farming in general, but Bernard Matthews being one of the worst offenders, in my eyes. there have been numerous documentaries showing the conditions the turkeys are kept in, and some members of staff abusing the birds, kicking them, throwing them and so on.

local butchers are usually very good. prices are often quite competitive with supermarket ones too.

it sounds like you're doing exactly what I think is the right thing to do.

Thank-you that means a lot, I try to do my best for my boys and Shrek as he works hard, the pets get good quality food too, I often save them most of mine, lol.

I would say just get some cookie cutters and cut out the shapes of the animals and then breading them and cook them, that would my advice.

Thsnks ever so much stacy, I'm always a bit wary of chicken in case I don't cook it through so I had to make sure, just go and see if they liethe processed ones now, I have a horrible feeling they will, but mine are going to be much better, thank-you!

Oh, yeah and for ideas...rolled in egg then a mixture of parmesan cheese, shredded and bread crumbs is good. Also rice krispy cereal works good, or crumbled tortilla chips, pretty much anything like that.

Those sound fantastic fun to make, they could even help me which has to be better for them - and me!
