We all know how important water is for us or for the world to stay alive all of us, be it human animal or plants. In a TV programe they were showing that how dengerously water level is going down. Day by day population is grwing rapidly and we are using more and more water. Also we waste water for no good reason. Some people just don't care and waste lots of water when watering garden or using water in kitchen. I think this is the time to think seriously and act accordingly about using water. Whatever small portinon of wter we can save also can make a big difference in long term. Also it can save some money on your water bill if you use it little conciously. Do you waste water when using it Or you are careful about using water?

here at my place we are having so much of crisis of water that i m sick of it. when it comes to toilet then the situation is not at all compromised. we buy mineral water to drink because sometimes water is not supplied to us for drinking also . so in the bathroom for the cleaning and bathing purpose, one should forget that. it seems a dream that once upon a time there use to be water in our taps, and we use to take bath here, we use to use this soap, that shampoo, and what all and what not. its a dream friend, water level is going down n down and population is bursting like anything. we are having no control over anything.

Hi Sweetlady I try to be carefull with my water. I do admit I water my gardens in the summer months when we dont have any rain. I dont want to see my flowers die. I do remember just a couple of years ago we had to take turns on our street when watering.

We have to water our garden whenever it needed. Just we should be careful that we don't waste water when wtering our garden. I can see a lot of people keeping just their water pipe open and ther would be a small flood in that area lol.

Whenever I wash the car (which is not very often I hasten to add!) I always use a couple of buckets and NEVER a hosepipe, it does take much longer with a bucket but it doesn't use the amount of water hosepipes do. I do also tend to have showers more than baths so I save water that way too. I do try when cleaning my teeth not to keep the cold tap running now while I brush my teeth, which also saves water.

We're careful with it. We've taught the kids to be careful with it. We do play outside in the summer with the hose--ONLY if it has been a rainy season. We don't let the hose just run constantly though. The minute they get side tracked the slide comes off. We do have a well so I know all about watching your water usage. Especially during the drier times. This spring, I've seen so much rain, I wish I could send it to those who need it for a little bit :(

Even though we get quite a lot of rain in Ireland, I am still very conservative with my water. We may just get a couple of warm weeks in the Summer and then our reservoires will fall below the minimum level and our water supply will be disconnected and there will be a hose pipe ban. I have two barrels under my drain pipes and I use these to collect rain water. This is used to wash the cars and to water the garden in dry weather.

Funny thing, we were just talking about that the other day. The last time we were in Disneyland I used the washroom there and the toilets just flushed constantly. A weird thing to notice I suppose, but that goes on 365 days of the year. So can you imagine how much water is being used? Being the Green Scene Queen I always watch water consumption even though we are on a well and have a dugout with a filtration system to water our animals.

We need rain! - Australia desperately needs rain! We need water to fill our dams and reservoirs. Hopefully this drought will soon break.
We are very careful abot our water and will have to start being even more careful. Australia is in the middle of its worst drought on record. Here in Victoria the reservoirs are down near 30% capacity and what little rain we get from time to time barely makes a difference. We are heading for the highest level water restrictions where we won't be allowed to water our gardens. At the moment we can do that on certain days of the weeks at certain times. We are no longer allowed to wash our cars - even with a bucket - only wash our windscreens and mirrors with a bucket. To wash the car we must use a carwash. It's very serious and I worry about my children's future. Why governments have taken it easy on this subject up until now is a mystery. We were already on severe restirctions last year and the state government lifted them because of an approaching election. And it's only in the last few months that they seem to realize just how bad things are. They are talking about using recycled water - and filtering it - even sewage - rather than desalinization which seems a better alternative. It's OK to throw money away on all sorts of stuff but on vital issues they seem to flounder. Good topic.

I heard somewhere that the cities are sinking because of the water usages. Then we see on the news sometimes these sinkholes that open up. I think that they are connected. We do use our water wisely. We have a well and try to make the water go as far as possible. We use graywater in the garden. We use creek water for the garden when it is dry to help save of well water usage. We do not take long showers or baths, the tub is not real full. We are aware of where our water comes from and where we use it.

Water shortage is a growing concern in many parts of the world. We really should be more judicious in our water consumption. I personally make a conscious effort to go slow with the water,I close taps when I'm not using them and I also make sure hubby does the same. Sometimes while brushing he leaves the tap running..I obviously tell him not to.

My water has been metered for the last 23 years .. so I certainly don't waste any .. I'm flippin' paying for it otherwise .. You can save gallons and gallons a year by just turning of the tap while you are brushing your teeth .. it's a nuisance having to turn it on each time .. but if you get a big bowl and let the water run into it while you brush your teeth .. then measure all that water .. then multiply by 730 (2 brushings daily) .. you'll be amazed at how many gallons you'll save ..

water the elixr of life.no life form can exist without it can it?isnt it ironical on one side there is a deficit for water and on the other side the polar caps are melting and filling the land up with water causing serious problems.anyway as you said buddy water conservation is really important because we may never know how important it is to us until we have a scarcity.we need to monitor our use of water and never waste it.

I believe that water is life.We need to conserve water now as much as possible. As we all know that summer is in already therefore conserving water is a must.Basically if we tend to waste our water now, then it's just like wasting our life on earth. My call to all myLot users"Let's conserve water everyday until we're here in this world".Let's do it now!

I know that all of us including the people who tell they preserve water do waste each and every day. This is not because they want to, this is due to there habit which has come all the way from there birth. In early days there was no problem for water and they used freely and now a days we are facing the problem. Now also there is no problem of water if the experts think and come with good ideas. but there should not be interferance of any political parties/government but expcept for the financial matters with not big resitrictions. I mentioned political paties as in our India it happens.

In my area, we have a recycling program in which we are supposed to place recyclable papers in bundles or paper bags, & bottles & cans in a special container for recycling. The bottles & cans are supposed to be cleaned out before placing in the special container to be left on the curbside to be picked up. Instead of just running water to wash these containers out, I wash the dishes into the recyclable bottles & cans to clean them out.

i try to use water consciously now especially we are now really experiencing water crisis here in australia... the government had enforced stage 3a water restrictions now here in order to save water... and they also asking the citizens to do their bit in saving the water... if this does not help, they will start to use recycle water... so, yes... i try to use water consciously as much as i can before we ran out of that valuable resources...

You may laugh but every year for the last few years we have been issued with water shortage warnings in the UK. The reason people may laugh is because the UK is famous for having lots of rainy weather all year around! I pay about £220 a year in water rates which is quite high I feel for the size of my property but I am very sensible with my use of water. I don't water the garden (erm I don't really keep the garden anyway as I hate gardening) - it gets natural water if and when it rains. If I'm in the kitchen I only switch the taps on as and when I need them and I never use a hosepipe. I know people who say "I pay my rates I can use as much water as I want and when I want!" which I think is rather a selfish attitude. No matter how much or how little water I use I will get the same bill but I still try to be sensible and not waste water :)

Water is very essential for life.People do waste water and are not aware.People think that only paying the water bill is what they can do but they don't understand the importance that one day all the water will be gone.People just want to live their own life to the fullest without thinking about the future generations.People don't get broken pipes repaired, they only get them repaired if it affects them.People use treated water for watering plants washing their cars, plying with their children etc. They don't think that there are places like Africa and other desserts where people die of thirst. We can't imagine their misery sitting in front of the computer.I myself try to save as much water as I can,I close the slowly leaking taps of our home.It is important that at least I do my part and seeing me other people who visit my home will take a lesson fro me.I hope even you save water.Discussions on such topics must be entertained.Blogs like my lot should be used to do such good work. There are people out there doing social service just for mother earth I think by doing our part we may be able to help them. GOOD BYE AND THANKS.

water is the most precious thing that god has given us.it should not get wasted anyhow.think if there would be no water in some years to come. how would living being exist.its a really big question mark? i think that mostly water crisis builds up during summer in my country.so therefore it should be preserved during other part of the year.we dont realise that how much water we waste everyday.it should be used very carefully.think about it and use it carefully.

I too also save a lot of water.... usually i ha a habit of wasting a lot of water while washing clothes but now that has reduced condiderably, also used to love sitting under the shower for long streches of time.that has also reduced
