Should I go?

My school is hosting a trip to France next summer. It's going to cost nearly 3500. This includes airfare, hotel, attractions and food. They're going all over the place... castles in the north, Paris of course and all its major attractions. I really would love to go. I've been studying french the past two years and I really love the language and the culture. It'd be such a great experience. But the price is definitely not cheap... What should I do?

You should go! Don't miss this chance since you really wanna go and you also know the language and the culture. Its better to have this chance. You would not know whether you could come to France in the years to come.Your school have given you this chance as a student.I think this cost is cheaper than going via ourself beacause you're still a student. So they consider that too.If money is really a problem for you,its another story. But,i recommend you to go.If im in your shoes,i would like to go..hehe,its like once in a lifetime experience that could not be miss.

$3500 is a lot of money, for sure, but it will be the experience of a lifetime and you can be certain that, because it's a school trip, they will have been able to get very good rates for the accommodation and so on. If you were to plan the same trip on your own or with friends, it would likely cost you easily as much. My advice is to make sure your passport is in order and do everything short of stealing to raise the money. You will have a great time! As for practising your French, you may find that, unless you look for the opportunity, you will need to be able to speak it less than if you were going on your own but it is a great chance to soak up the culture and to see what everyday life is like in France. That will stand you in very good stead in your French studies and later, when you revisit the country.

Wow...what a wonderful opportunity you have before you! If it was me, I would try and go. Is your school providing some sort of fund raiser to help you go? If not, maybe you should suggest it. Maybe a car wash or bake sale...any little bit would help! When my church would have trips we had fund raisers where we sold candy and the money we raised was deducted from our total amount due. We also got money deducted for volunteering at certain activities.

I would try my best to save the money and come up with the money. You don't want to miss the opportunity of a life time. Going on school trips or church trips are always the best and you have so much fun and learn so much. I wouldn't have traded my experiences and trips for anything. I would try to go and enjoy!
