defining intelligence is highly problematic. is there an "intelligence" that equips us to solve all kinds of problems and answers all questions, regardless of their nature? or are there different intelligences that help us deal with particular probl;ems&solution? The scientific community is divided in the issue.

Intelligence does come in AREAS. Look at Einstien, unquestionably the best mathmatician of all time (very intelligent wouldn't you say?)yet the man could not tie his own shoes which any 5 year old child can do. Rumor has it that the computer wiz Bill Gates is a total idiot when it comes to finances. Mee personally I have a very high iq yet simple words are hard for mee to correctly spell, hell my 12year old corrects mee at times, yet give mee any other subject and I will excell at it. Then there is the guy in the Gueness Book of World records that has an IQ of like 56 yet he is a musical geneous, he can actually recycle the music he hear 50 years ago FLAWLESSLY! So yeah intelligence comes in areas.Put Donald Trump on the streets with the bums and gang bangers and see how good his "Business" intelligence fairs for him, where those with "Street" intelligence live every day. Thank you for the interesting discussion and have a great day!!

Yes this is why the IQ test tests in many areas and then gives you the average of your score. Like with my IQ test my highest scores were in mathmatics and problem solving (cognative thinking). Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

I agree with you, defining intelligence is a problem! I think that there are more types of intelligences, like math intelligence, the ability of doing fast and difficult calculations in a small time. There is different intelligence about speaking or in the ability of formulating long discourses. Some scientists said that men are more able than women in doing math calculations and imagining complex 3D surfaces or objects in their minds. Instead women are more able to do discourses and have more developed talking abilities. But intelligence is not only these things....because you must consider the ability to have a bigger memory than others. You must consider intuition too! And time employeed to solve problems or do a thing! So definitely it's very hard to understand what is intelligence! If you look on internet, you could find some tests that try to evaluate your intelligence rating...it's called IQ test, it gives you a number to understand if you more intelligent or less intelligent than normal people in your age. It evaluates your ability to do maths puzzles in a short time and then it calculates a rating! The normal value is 100, if you get an higher rating you are more intelligent than people with the same age...if less...you are not so intelligent. I've got a rating of 130 ;-)) on some tests ;-p

There are two different ways to define how 'bright' someone is... And it's mainly wisdom and intellect, now some people make go eh you're just htinking about RPGs. Well, take a look at it for a second, someone who is wise, they mainly are seeing the big picture of everything and they are what we could say as philosophers from the old times... And people with intellect perfect example being scientists.
