Do they evaluate your writing daily. Ive had a different star everyday. I have noticed the people with 10 blue stars have all said they spend 8 hours per day here on Mylot. 8 hours for $1.00 one dollar, wow (can you say "SLAVE LABOR"). That is the beginning of Insanity. Insane in the membrain. O.k. I am mad because my rating went down. But I am not hating on those who have the opportunity to post all day.

I think your star drops when people give you a (-) on you questions and answers. I had some moralistic idiots target me a few days back, and my star went from 7 to 3. They seem to have been deleted from the site now, though, and my star is slowly begining to climb again

Try not to give much attention to the rate. It will eventually go up again. This is nothing to do with the time you expend here in myLot. And since no one really knows if it affects the earnings, there is nothing to be worried about. Take it easy and try to enjoy this site. Don't get mad for little things. There are bigger things that we should be worried and mad about.

Heheh I wanted your style to speak diplomacy like you! Quite true was done by us any as usual, and did not think about the trivial matter. Because to become the "big" person! Must do the big work also. True or not!

Nah, Judy had it right. It has to do with how the community rates you. They're only supposed to rate you negative if you don't follow guidelines, are abusive, respond with something that is totally off topic, or copy and paste other people's responses. You can also report people for the last thing. The thing is that some people abuse the rating system by rating people negative because they disagree with them. I have noticed that posting to politically or religiously charged discussions can have an effect on your rating. I don't sit here all day, either. I mean, I just don't find that many discussions to give a quality response to.

I used to do 50 posts a day. Now its like less than ten. I have to play some video games and do homework for my sophromore classes. Im in high school. Im fifteen. I have $10.06. yes. Sometimes the people with blue stars earn more than $1.00. Its like 5 cents for one post with ten stars.

If your star has fluctuated, most probably some members have rated you negative (-) on your discussions or responses. You won't know who these members are, actually. As for me, I only log-in here on my free time. Do you have a lot of friends on your list now? Looks like you're new. It helps to have a lot of friends (you can invite them) so that you will get a lot of support, to build your reputation. That's what the star-rating is all about -- reputation. It doesn't have anything to do with earnings, although it may seem logical somehow that those with higher ratings have been given pluses or (+) because of the quality of their discussion/responses, so they get higher amounts of money. But then, this is not a site for making money. I'm having fun here. Don't think about the rating and the earnings -- those things might just spoil your day. Enjoy your time here instead. Happy myLotting!

Thank u, yes I do have friends that I have met since I been here and they are really supportive as far as participaing on my discussions. I'm not going to let it bother me, I was not sure how we were rated. I thought mylot administrtation gave the rating but now I know whats going on.

I have a 10 star and I don't spend anywhere near 8 hours here, just a little bit here and there throughout the day. If I did I know I'd get much more than $1.00. I don't bother trying to figure out how much I get per post but it's probably at least $.05. I think one day when I struggled to get 20 posts I got $1.30 or so. The number in the star, like the others have said, is based on how many people rate you and if they give you a positive or negative. I rate almost everyone that answers my discussions and I do it fairly (I think). If it's a good answer, with a lot of thought, it gets a positive even if I disagree. If it doesn't appear that that read my whole post and at least a few of the responses, or if it's really short and didn't add anything, I don't rate it either way. If they give an answer that has little or nothing to do with my discussion, I give it a negative. I report the ones that are abusive, copied, or total nonsense (the ones that put something in like dkhfkhl and nothing else). Just keep trying to post quality discussions and responses and don't worry about your star. An 8 is still really good and it gives you a goal to reach...you can look forward to getting a 10, I just have to try to keep it.

You've obviously upset some people. I took a look at your discussions in the last few days and the only one I could see that might have been responsible is the one about lesbian slogans on t-shirts. That could be the one that's done it! It's not fair I know but a lot of people on here give your post a negative rating just because they disagree with you and that's what will have caused your star rating to decrease. By the way I have a 10 star and no way do I spend 8 hours a day on myLot - I don't have time. Usually I spend 1 or 2 hours a day on here. I wouldn't worry too much about your star rating though. I don't think it has any effect on your earnings on here - it certainly doesn't on mine because my earnings are rubbish! Most months I'm struggling to reach payout.

Hi your rating goes down when members of the community marks your response with a (-)but you know there are going to be some people to abuse the system and mark a response with(-) just because they dont like a response which is ridiculous.Everybody is entitled to their own opinion,so i dont know why in the world they do that.

If people rate you with a (-) your rating probably drops a few points but I am not sure. I am a 10 and I spend some time here - usually while i am at work. I usually post about 50 a day - but there can be days when I donĀ“t log on at all. =)

I have noticed If i have a view that is offensive, I seem to get hit with the negative rating. I know I dont agree with it , but that is what mylot has set up. I sure hope you feel better, and dont let those wanting to slam your views tear you down.

Yeah I am o.k. I think mylot should restructure the rating system because people are going around being mean. I haven't said anything offensive to anyone.

It doesnot mean that people with rating 10 work for 8 hrs.Even my rating is 10 and i work 3 hrs a day in mylot and never more than day in any day.Actually its increase or decrease depends on the positive and negative markings alloted to your topics or responses by mylotters. As of me my first rating immediately after the 100th post was only 6 and it got raised to 10 now.i have never marked negative to anyone even though if i get some irrelevant responses to my topics.

I'm really not sure how the posts are evaluated on a day to day basis. I began with a rating of six and went up to nine and it has stayed there consistently. I cannot honestly tell you why that happens. I'm guessing that they take many things into consideration like best responses you have earned, how descriptive your posts are and if you leave comments for others who have answered your discussions with thought.

I haven't been here all day, or for 8 hours. Just bits and pieces at a time. When I got my first star it was a 6, next day it was an 8, then a ten. And I earn about $3.70 a day, so I don't find that too shabby since it equals to $111 for 30 days. Just for spending my free time here!

Wow extraordinary. Up until 8 hours a day to send post him. Appropriately they got the star. But I did not yet understand how could get his method of getting the star? Must send post many? Or what? For that has had the star, has gotten money more? Or what? Please give the explanation.

The star comes from the lil - + signs to the right of your computer. People rate you on your comment

Well I have a good rating but I don't stay for whole day infront of the computer I just let myself enjoy the site and whenever I feel bored I just log out. I guess some people have judge you by your response some kind of a disagreement and that is because you just been honest and stand for what you really believe. Mylot update our rating every day so everytime someone give a negative rate to you, you will the effect after 24 hours.

i don't think the ratings are based on how much time you spend on mylot. i guess if we don't follow the rules and answer with liners the our ratings will be lower. i also read that you earn more if the rating is higher. i'll wait to find out when i reach 100 posts

I too spend nowhere near 8 hours, maybe 1.5 at most, but I am not getting the payouts that others claim either. As a writer, it stimulates my thought processes to have to justify my opinions, so it is valuable for me if people rated me 10 or 2 - although I appreciate the positive feedback!

My rating also went down today and I was disappointed because I worked really hard on posting. You may not choose to sit here and post all day because the money you earn here at mylot is probably just enough for pocket money or for just a few extra cash but it's nothing serious. Based on the reactions of people here, I am guessing that someone may have put a negative on the rating thing here and probably did it for fun. I wish people wouldn't do that but you can't really know.
