I ate a whole bag of chocolate Hershey kisses with almonds yesterday. I eat chocolate every day. It's like it calls me like (Bridgette come to me!!) Goodness... That couldn't be healthy. What are some your your suggestions to get rid of this addiction?

I just stopped buying junk foods and candy. Not having it around makes it so much easier. As long as it's in the house, you'll be tempted to eat it all. Like many other addictions, once you've stopped consuming it, over time you lose the craving for it. Try replacing unhealthy snacks with things like fruits (fresh and dried) and trail mix.

I admit to being a chocoholic and have to have my daily "fix". This weekend has been pretty bad as for Easter it is everywhere so I also overindulged. I have not seen it, so far, to be detrimental to my health but I do ration myself to a certain amount each day. I have found Dove sugar free chocolate candies to be delicious and not add unwanted calories.

In my case I drink lots of water so that my stomach would feel full. I think that it would be good to indulge from time to time and succomb to our cravings. As long as you don't do it everyday and do some exercises to burn all those calories, then no need to worry.

Great Ideal ! Water make you feel full. I think in many cases when we feel hungry we are in fact thirsty. I read that somewhere before.

One way to stop cravings is not to deprive yourself of them for too long. I love chocolate so I allow myself a small piece every day so I don't succumb to eating a whole bag. I would tell you to each something healthy, but that won't stop your craving any way. The other thing you could do is not keep it in the house. If you have to go out of your way to satisfy your craving, then you might just forget it altogether.

Good suggestions!! I will attempt to stop buying it. I have this thing though when my favorites are on sell. It's like I have to buy it. What's up with that? That's another habit I need to break

Chocolate is addicting because it creates endorphins that make us feel good. So, just like any addiction, the only way to break away from it is to stop putting into your body. Simple, but not so easy. First you need to define the problem. Is chocolate causing problems for you? If not, don't worry about it. Just limit your intake to reduce the amount of refined sugars in your diet. If it is causing problems, then you may want to kick the habit. Women seem to be more affected by chocolate than men. So there must be a hormonal aspect somewhere. I don't know for sure. I'm a chocolate addict. I take spells of avoiding it. And then there are the binges. Moderation isn't possible with a true addict. It is all or nothing!

Yeah , only when I eat it in extreme overdoses, I get headaches. I will limit my intake and see how I do. Thank you for your suggestion

Do you talk back to them when it is calling.. Bridgette.........? :) If not, then you are just a normal chocolate loving woman. I like the water recommendation. It works for me. Plus, I crave chocolate more at one time of the month than any other. I NEED it at that time, if you know what I mean. So it helps me pass it up at other times in order to allow myself all that I need when the time comes. It is a mental game I play with myself. I know that. But don't get between a woman and her chocolate.

There are actually minerals on the market that can be taken to help curb cravings. I know you where looking for more of an answer along those lines. It definitely has to do with your body lacking something it needs. I don't know exactly what the mineral is. I have also heard other woman talking about vitamin B and its role on cravings. I will be following this discussion. Maybe someone will be more helpful than I have been.
