why is it important to attract more & more people to your profile?

i have seen many seniors giving tips that its very important that you get more than 1000 profile views per month. Now why is that important at all..?
Do we earn more points with the number of page views of our profile..? or its just about exposing our website which we have on our profile..
or its about exposing our photos to others..?
What it is? why is it important to expose profile to more and more number of people here in mylot?

I don't think profile views have any significance other than to reflect how popular you are among mylot members. Its just something for people to brag about here on mylot. I think most know that if you put a good looking girl's picture, you will surely get lots of profile view. I don't see it having any significance as far as our earnings are concerned.

I am here on mylot for last 6 months & i never used any trick to get good number of visitors on my profile yet & also never heard that we must have atleast 1000 visitors for our profile per month. We do n't get any point or cent when we get 1000 visitors on mylot. I think that as people r promoting their sites now mylot now so, they try to get good number of visitors per month. 2ndly, if more people visit urs profile, more people'll often reply u & u make good income on mylot. No other reason comes in my mind rleated to this issue.

For me it is important because I will get more responses to my discussions. I go through, read and rate each response. Also, the new people who respond to my discussions on my profile have profiles of their own which i look at, and go through and look at their various discussions. It's important because it gives me something to do. ;-)
