Making my own ring tones for Sony Ericcson Rogers Customer how

I am a Canadian. Could someone tell me how to make my own ring tones from my cds or mp3s? I am a Rogers customer. I want to know what is the best free program to use? I have Audacity and Wavepad, but I also have a Compac Presario Pentium 4 machine. Also I want to know the bit rate or whatever, as well as instructions so it will work. I have a Sony Ericcson quadband.

Sorry, I cant help you with this problem. I have no idea how to download ring tones on a sony ericcson. I have a nokia. I am in need of a new one too.

Hmmm sorry you already know way more about it than I do. But I figured the least I could do was give you a little line or two to get this discussion going again...lol I just figured out recently how to buy a ring tone...I am technically slow at this kind of thing...haha

I may be computer savvey but what your asking is wayyyyyyyy over my head.
