LADIES: To avoid a dirty toilet, will you pee standing up?

I was listening to the radio today when the DJ mentioned something about dirty toilets and ladies. And this one, being a main gripe from ladies most of the time, it got me curious about what it is. The DJ was saying, how women are always finding public loos a nuisance to use as most of them are usually grimy and dirty. There is a product in the market that solves this problem and is very saleable in the states. It is basically a device that the lady can use to help her to pee standing up. This would make it possible not to use any of those dirty toilets that ladies come across. And it is disposable if you do not want to keep it for another use. The web site has a better explanation. http://www.go-girl.com/what-is-gogirl.asp So, out of curiosity, do you think this device would be useful? Would you get one?

This device might be useful for some women, or maybe convenient is the word, but I don't see myself buying anything like this in the near future. Trust me, if you have to go bad enough, and can't or won't sit down on the toilet, you can urinate standing up. When I went into labor with my daughter, the pressure that I had felt like I needed to urinate, but I couldn't sit on the toilet because of the pain. So I straddled the toilet and went that way. I had to go like this for the next week and a half following the birth of my daughter, due to severe tearing and it was too painful to sit down. I guess the device would have helped me out, but I managed just fine without it.

Thanks for sharing that insight. I never knew it would be so difficult for a pregnant lady to go to the loo.

that is so weird, and no i would not use it plus i do not really urinate in public rest rooms until i know it is clean and see that it is clean, if i really want to urinate i would enter a fast food chain which has a restroom lol and i would pee there because i am assured it is cleaner than those of outside restrooms! but at times i do hold my pee and pee at home!

Yeah.. I know what you mean. There is no loo like the loo at home. No matter what, if possible, I will try to do my business at home. For it is there that I know is clean!

lol =D I remember asking my friend to even use a straw.. lol =D Because it's easier to pee and she need not be scared of those dirty toilets.. hehe ^_^ But i dun think they will use that kind of device as it looks too weird.. haha But anyway, ladies always have their ways of using dirty toilets and they are much used to it than us, guys ^_^ Most gals toilets are dirty, not because of pee or poo everywhere, but rather it's wet or even having tampons thrown all over.. hehe ^_^ The worst is that, toilet seats being wet due to those muslim gals having to wash after either pooing or peeing ^_^ So, most ladies will be either cleaning the seat with toilet paper, or just wrap the seat with toilet paper ^_^ hehe

I guess that is the norm. But if the device is useful, don't you think they may consider using them for a more pleasant toilet experience? I dunno. I am not a lady myself. But I found the contraption interesting. Interesting in the sense that some one actually thought of making something like that.

i don't think the public toilets will build urinals for the ladies just because of this contraption.

It might sound convenient but it takes them some time to pratise on using that too.. lol =D As it's completely new to them and it might even be awkard for some too.. Imagine there are urinals in the ladies too?? I'm sure a lot of us are bound to go into the wrong ones.. haha

HAHAHAHAHA! No way! Geez, I have enough trouble just standing and doing nothing at all! I use those disposable toilet seat covers that are in every toilet stall in public bathrooms. If they don't have them or are out of them, I will use toilet paper to cover the seat. Fortunately, I don't go out often enough, or far enough, to need the use of public toilets very often. That is an ingenious device, I must say. But I'm making toilet seat covers myself as part of my craft website. Mine fit over any toilet seat and are padded for extra "comfort". They also are machine washable and can be re-used over and over again. I just realized I don't have a photograph of one! I'm going to get busy taking some photos of the crafts I make. Who knows? Maybe I'll find a whole bunch of sales right here in myLot!

ha ha ha ha... you never know. Just post your product here and see if people are gonna buy them or not. Hmmm... washable toilet seats? That would mean you have to carry them around with you when you go out? And then keeping it back after using it on the public toilets? Wouldn't the disposable ones be more hygenic in this case?

ha ha ha ha ha... That is innovation working there. Seriously, I have never heard of toilet seat cushion or covers until I went on an overseas trip to Australia. There, the toilets in one of the hotels I stayed in had this furry seat which amuses me. Only then I know that people actually prefer to use toilets seat covers so that their butt will not be cold from sitting on the throne! Here where I am, there is no such thing. Personally, I prefer the plastic seat anytime. Easy to use. Easy to wash. Easy to maintain.

Oh, most definitely the disposable ones would be more sanitary but mine are going to be advertized for home use. My husband was actually the inspiration for my toilet seat covers. When he, umm, does things that require sitting on the toilet seat, he's usually in there for quite a few minutes, then inevitably complains that his butt hurts from sitting on that, first cold, then hard, toilet seat. Personally, I prefer those soft toilet seats but he doesn't. (Maybe he just likes complaining???) So, I desiged something that would slip over the seat so (1) the seat wouldn't be cold and (2) would help to cushion the derriere when extended use of the toilet seat is required.

Well, although I can see why it was created - other from the fact that it was to make money :) - I think that the best thing would be for each person using specially public toilets to be thoughtful of others and responsible. If everyone cleaned their own mess, than the next person would have to deal with it. And since we're talking about it, proper maintenance and cleaning of public toilets should be considered over spending money in other ways ( like toilet makeovers and decor, which although nice, won't do anything for me if the place where I need to do my business is a mess).

Yeah... That too has been one thing that has been overlooked most of the time. But given the toilet conditions for most of the shopping centers today, there is nothing much that I could hope for. They are clean and pleasant to use. Can't say the same for all coffee shop toilets though.

Yeah, I too find it unusual. That is why it got me curious. Curious enough to post a discussion to get the views of the ladies here.

Then I would never urinate in that comfort room at all. I cannot imagine the bacteria our internal system would fetch out later on. I avoided this situation because I am afraid of any bacteria and UTI.

But if you cannot hold it no more, would you still go around looking for an alternative toilet?

Yes, I never sit on the toilet to pee in the public places. I only "pretending sitting" on the toilet to pee, I mean the b u t t won't reach the toilet.

But the funnel featured in the website is precisely designed to prevent that from happening. No?
