Yes, I´m in bed. And as I´m mylotting, my arms, hands and fingers are cold. But once in a while I place them inside the blankets. I cannot put inside the blankets my nose (I would smother) or my head the thaw my ears. I put the heater on but it has not warmed my room yet. And I ran to the kitchen, brought a hot coffee and I´m now drinking iced coffee While I mylot I read the news and I also watch the news online. I go from important news that might bring a change to our lives (now Putin is visiting China) to trivia (like the picture of Charles III of England). Wars everywhere make me extremelly unhappy. Two years have gone by in the war between Rusia and Ukraine. And David is still fighting Goliath. Incredible! I read that after WWII Japan was not allowed to have ANY weapons. The country had lost in all senses. So they started to build needed things. And after a while, Japanese cars replaced the more expensive American cars. The same thing happened with China. Now EVERY kitchen gadget we have (unless they are very old) are made by the People´s Republic of China. True they are much worse than the old ones. But they are cheap and can be replaced easily. I have an old Osterizer blender made in Germany for decades. Meanwhile my daughters have bought and discarded several. And the planet is full of junk. How many TVs have you had and discarded? How many PCs have you thrown away? How many cellphones? Today, as I found my darning needle, I´ll darn my alpaca night socks. I have had them for over 20 years and I´m proud of that. If we all did a little darning and a little recycling, our planet would be a better place. And probably, we would not need to fight so much. See you later. It is breakfast time

Believe it or not our TV will turn 25 the next month and still working. We usually buy good quality (not from China) it is more expensive, but we have not discarded and thrown many appliances. With the cellphones is different the old phones do not work more because they stopped the G2 and G3 so we were obliged to buy G4 phoney.

I believe you. I´m the only person I know who has the Betamax devise to watch movies. And my small electric oven used to be my mother´s. She was going to throw it away to the garbage when I stopped her. That happener over 25 years ago. It is still running and I love it.

@LadyDuck All old gadgets used to be better. To begin with The steel of the old machines was better.

We have had our washer and dryer for 20 years. Unfortunately the washer is making bad noises. The new appliances probably will last 7 years. Have a good day.

I had to give away my first and best washing machine because I could not find a tiny part that was needed. I gave it to a home where they had people who did fix it.

I never start my day with any news, Too upsetting, By the time I get around to going through my email then I find out the latest news, When I lived in Latvia we always made sure someone knitted wool socks for us because all winter it was so cold we practically lived in wool socks,

You are right about things not lasting for a long time. I remember when appliances would last a lifetime and now you have to replace them frequently. Your alpaca socks must be toasty and warm.
