Insecurities in Career

It's been almost five months since I passed the Philippine Bar Exam and had taken an oath. Right now, I have seen a lot of posts from people whom I took and passed the Bar Exams with. Many of them can notarize now, some were able to find a job at a law firm, some are defending people in court, and others are either working privately or publicly with the government. I'm having such insecurities. I am now a lawyer but nothing has changed yet. I am still in the same position. Working as a Legislative Service Assistant, a position that's good only for those who are still law students. I am starting to feel embarrassed. I'm having a difficult time looking for a job in the government. I can't apply for notarization yet because I don't have the funds to do it yet. Disappointment and embarrassment are slowly eating me up, and yet I always try to convince myself that everything will be okay because one day a government office will accept me. But then I ask, "When?"

@arunima25 Thank you so much. I never really thought that my articulation skills were that great. This is the first time someone told me that.

@HaruLoid I have two cousins who are lawyers, and they are practicing their profession at their father's law firm. I am sure you can do it.  Before, I was planning to study law. But there is no chance.

Yes. My mother told me that too. But sometimes I tend to compare my situation from others which made me feel more desperate than ever to get a good job immediately. Thank you for this. I'll check it out.

It's tough seeing others moving forward while you feel stuck. But remember, nothing worth having comes easy, especially in the legal field. Your journey as a lawyer is just beginning, and finding the right path takes time. Don't let setbacks define you. As a lawyer, dwelling on setbacks and insecurities should be the least or not even be on your radar. Your profession demands resilience and determination, traits that will ultimately lead you to success. Trust in your abilities, keep honing your skills, and focus on what you can control. The right opportunity will align with your ambition and dedication. Keep in your mind that a lawyer's mindset is strong! So keep pushing forward, stay proactive in seeking opportunities, and trust that the right job will come your way.
