Today is Thursday. Just one more day left of the work week. We are just on the cusp of a nice long holiday weekend here in Canada. Yes, on Monday we will celebrate Victoria Day. This is the unofficial kick off to summer. Many will gather with friends and family for barbeques, picnics and fun outside. Many will get their gardening started. We are expecting nice weather in our neck of the woods, and I am looking forward to a nice long 3-day weekend. What are you looking forward to?

The coming Monday is Pentecost and it's also a long weekend. There is a long line of cars waiting to cross the Gotthard Tunnel to come to the south. I hope for them that the sun will shine.

@LadyDuck It is just gorgeous outside now. The sun is shining and it is 22C. We made our trip out to the next little town to get our garden plants. We planted 4 beefsteak and 4 cherry tomato plants as well as 4 sweet red pepper plants. In the large planter I did only flowers. I had some autumn splendor sedum to separate, and put some of those across the back of the large planter, with some nice dusty Miller plants in front of them. The dusties usually come back the next year, that will be nice to see. We put a row of pink and white velvet begonias in front of that and across the very front we planted potato vines so that they can cascade down in front of the planter. It really takes alot of water.

We have a nice park only two blocks away. Maybe if it's not too warm I will get the kids to take me over there. I want an Icee. Do you remember those?

Getting my new internet tomorrow. Praying everything goes without a hitch. That will help as it is probably going to rain the majority of the weekend.

Yeah, it is new internet day today, glad that it is here. Is it fibre optic lines that they have laid for you to connect to?

@Juliaacv Mine now is only 49.00 per month. I was paying almost twice that with my former provider.

@snowy22315 When we lived in the country, which I assume that you do, we did not have cable lines outside of town. We had dsl internet, which ran over a dedicated second line from Bell-a phone line. Here we are in a newer area and there are fibreoptics, which are like lines made of glass and can send the speeds quicker, apparently. It is also over $100 per month, so not cheap. But based on the fact that we only stream on free apps, it does save us.

Thank you. Yesterday my husband and I took a nice drive over to the next town and went to the garden nursery there. We returned with lots of bedding flowers and vegetables which we happily planted. We are monitoring them today to make sure that the ground isn't over/under watered as it is quite warm already and it isn't even noon yet. Enjoy your weekend.

@thelme55 I'm glad that you enjoyed your weekend. We planted dusty millers, begonias, potato vines and split up some autumn splendour sedum and replanted those. We also planted 4 sweet red pepper plants 4 cherry tomato plants and 4 beefsteak tomato plants.

I hope that it isn't too terribly busy at work today. I would like to go out to Canadian Tire and get a couple of things for the garden after I finish working this afternoon. I hope that you can see your hubby again really soon.

@LindaOHio Thanks, it was a bit stressful. They are launching a new version of the software for the database that we use and that limited the bandwidth we had to work with. Things were a bit slow, copy and paste didn't work, little annoyances, but nothing huge.

It's hard to believe that your Victoria Day is here already. We're a week away with our long Memorial Day weekend next weekend. Our weather hasn't been very nice lately so it's hard to imagine summer celebrating. Glad your weather looks nice and hope you enjoy your LONG weekend.

Thank you, just today left to work. They usually go out to visit our daughter-in-law's mother on the long weekend to do her yardwork, as she cannot do it alone. I'm not sure if we will see them or not. My hubby tells me that the girls have asked for me every morning this week when he walks in.

Sounds a pretty relaxing weekend ahead. Today is Friday at our country. Summer already kicked in when we entered May. I pretty much look forward to get accepted at one of the Government Offices that I applied for. Hopefully I get a call, text or email telling me that they accepted me as one of their employees.

That will be lovely for you all! This weekend I’m expecting my friend Naomi to come get some stuff she wants, my dad to get the stuff I have for the church garage sale, and I will finally be able to put things in order. People keep telling me not to throw certain things away, but then take forever to come by and get the items. I need some order in my life. I hope your weekend is just wonderful.
