Happy Friday Everyone! it's overcast here today with temperatures only going to hit 70 degrees F. The weekend looks nasty with rain for every day but the sun looks like it will shine at the beginning of next week. All this dreary weather is depressing. I thought I hated those long dull winter months and now spring has been disappointing. Aside from whining about the weather my day is going well. My grandson had his wisdom teeth extracted yesterday but he got a good nights sleep and is only in a little bit of pain today. I'm happy that he is doing well and was worried he would be in a lot of pain. He'll probably bounce back quickly. Sometimes my daughter can drive me crazy A week or so ago my son put up a ceiling fan in her bedroom. She was thrilled and said it worked well and cooled off her room. Last night she said she was sorry she didn't get a smart fan. Good grief! This girl is smart obsessed and now she said she might get a smart fan and we can put the one in her room somewhere else. I don't really have any objection to maybe even putting it in my room but it just seems silly to me to replace it just to be able to operate it by voice. We have quite a few devices that are hooked up to smart plugs and I do agree that's it's easy to just operate them with a command. But, would I be hasty to replace something new just for convenience? Doubtful Would you??

That tickles my funny bone to think of wanting a smart fan with a new one just up. It reminds me of my cousin who loves smart appliances too. The only smart “machines” I have is a Smart TV, and a smartphone. I would be lost with anything else, I think. But boy, don’t try taking away my smart TV or smartphone!

@Marilynda1225 Oh, that would be so nice to turn the lights on and off with my voice!

@AmbiePam it's really a great feature. I can climb into he'd, set my alarm and turn my light off all through my Alexa

Her brother is going to think she's crazy if he has to come back to replace it with a smart fan and move this one somewhere else. As crazy as I think it is, I'd benefit from her getting a smart fan because I would probably put this new one in my bedroom or the living room as a second choice. So, maybe I should encourage her? I'd be lost without my smart tv and the ability to turn my bedroom light on and off by Alexa.

I'm glad that your grandson is doing well after the extraction of his wisdom teeth. If I get something new and have another good product in mind, I would at least use the existing new one for a while.

I agree with you about using the new one for awhile before deciding to replace it

No, not if I had something working perfectly. Some people really like their tech!

My daughter really loves techy things and gadgets. Half the stuff we have in the kitchen she bought.

@Marilynda1225 That's cool as long as it doesn't break on you!

We have lights on smart plugs. I like that, but I would not replace something like a fan, unless I had to. especially a celing fan. That's a lot of work.

She likes her smart items, that is for sure. My daughter-in-law likes them also. I think that with too many smart devices, signals could get crossed.

I tend to agree but some of the ones we have connected to alexa are pretty convenient.

I wonder if he would be willing to change it out so soon for her. I would be ashamed to ask.

She could have thought of that before. Does she have to get up to turn it on? With a smart one maybe she can turn it on with an app on her cell phone. Geez!

I wouldn't. I don't have to many smart devices. Also what will she do if the internet is down

I wouldn't either. My apartment isn't smart anything. Though I do have a Smart TV. It's the only Smart thing in my apartment. Though I can't turn it on by command. I don't have smart plugs.

We don't have anything smart in our house except the TVs....and us of course. I wouldn't be replacing a ceiling fan just to get a smart one. We have remotes on some of ours. Works just as well. Have a good weekend.

No problem. If the new tool makes your life easier, immediately replace the old tool with a new tool that is smarter and more sophisticated. Is that right?

There seems to be a lot of people are spending crazy $ on such stuff when there's people across the globe starving & homeless & jobless but do you think they even think they could be the same way? NO. I go as cheap & convenient as I can without going all techy like most people do these days but 1 day they'll learn, hopefully.

Would really love to get some rain here in the Philippines. Its always been so hot here lately. We haven't experienced rain for quite awhile now. I rather have things as they are right now. Smart devices, although convenient, can sometimes make people lazy from moving around.
