I agree, but our family shudders from the thought of investing so much love on a dog, just to have him leave us all over again.It seems like too much of an emotional drain, and we are unable to go thru it again.

I can quite understand; in fact my mother, who was with the dog in his last minutes, gets very upset even now when she recounts his last minutes.It is like losing a child.

That is very true. Many aspects of religions were created by people who were far less evolved and therefore have lost their relevance. Those aspects that are still relevant today are those that relate to values , ethics and are more spiritual than religious....
