Is it bad to wash your hair by shampoos frequently?

It has become very common to use the shampoo to hair very much fequently. Few of my friends complain about this. They told me that hair go gray in the early age. What's the fact?

Lemon juice and vinegar are often quoted as good hair rinses, But I doubt whether it's worth from cosmetic benefits point of view? What's your opinion about this?
