Why do buildings have green windows?

There are a few schools in my area that have recently put in new windows and they are all green. Why is that? Does the green have UV protection or something? Are they energy efficient? They really look depressing.

OK..I have a cat and don't know too much about cat behavior. I'm learning as we go along. Sometimes she's just sitting just so still, looking out the back window or something. . .and then she takes off like a wild one and zooms up...
