How to rectify an erratic computer restarting problem?

My computer is automatically restarting itself randomly... sometimes it would work for whole day continuously without any pbm but sometimes it would start restarting randomly while working or in idle, ... worse, sometimes the cpu...

inked4life I have had the same thing happen to 2 different computers that I have owned...one was bad stick of ram and the other I was able to fix using the repair option on the windows operating disk...you may want to try and run chkdsk first as this will sometimes take...
