oh hardware issue :).... There is a known issue for win32 services. Try also to check your OS if it is supports. Some XP SP1 have problems regarding in some hardwares.

nope.. maybe ther is a corrupted files in your OS (svchost.exe)... try to repair it. hope it works...

maybe thers a problem in your hardisk. how old is your hd? how long it will boot-up? :) also try to repair your operating system as much as possible.

hi - turning off the automatic updates in the control panel - go to http://update.microsoft.com - manually installing the updates - rebooting - you can turn on the automatic updates again.
