Is it risky to set a restaurant?

My father is asking me if setting up a restaurant is risky. He wants me to decide if he's going to build a new idea for a restaurant or just buy a frachise. Which do you think is more easier and more profitable?

eltonaclao Thanks. My dad loves cooking. He is the one in charge in cooking the menu if ever we have our reunion and my relatives loves it so much. However, it's too fine dining.
