Is it better to hibernate or shutdown?

It seems like hibernate is better than shutdown. Is there any disadvantage to using hibernate over shutdown?

fhd343 Hibernate is a good choice because it allows you to keep your program opening and save the power and i don't think that it have any disadvantages.
