dvschic goth is a darker version of emo, emo is short for emotional, so they are dramafied and so sad about the world (think uber wussie man) goth are just gothic and into the dark side, not necessarily wussified

Candid_Ishida An infamous song once said that Emo is just a cheap imitation of Goth. And... I sort of agree. I guess they're sort of similar, except with Emo, the fashion is not as interesting, and there's a lot more crying.
