Beaches - We have more than 2,500 kilometers of coastline, generously provided with sandy beaches, sheltered bays, quiet coves and idyllic islands. The two main resort regions are the east and west coasts of the Gulf of Thailand and the islands off the southern peninsula. There's the lively resort of Pattaya, two hours southeast of Bangkok on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand and the quieter resorts of Hua Hin and Cha-am on the opposite side. The south offers some of the most spectacular beaches in Asia, such as the beautiful island of Phuket in the Andaman Sea, Krabi on the mainland and Samui on the opposite shore of the peninsula.
