hagfish - It is called 'hagfish' a bottom feeder which can turn a five-gallon bucket of seawater into a pool of goo. It slimes its enemies, has rows of teeth on its tongue, and it feeds on the innards of a rotting fish by penetrating any orifice. This very ugly creature is 300 million year old(14 - 18 inches) and has no jaws and only one nostril. It is essentially blind, it dwells in the dark more than 1,000 feet down.
