Rock At Jalan Batu Market Singapore - This is the strange rock in Jalan Batu Market, Singapore (Batu means rock in Bahasa Melayu). There are some mystery and history behind this rock: 1) It used to have an original inscription but was covered by cement. 2) The rock was said to stand in a 'blood-bathed' slaughter market and the shape of the stone resembled a tomb stone. When viewed from above, the rock seems to be in a concept of being submerged in water. 3) This rock was said to be sacred and people gave offerings of joss sticks to the rock. 4) On the upper levels of the market itself, shops near the rock seemingly resembled a typical chinese funeral parlour.
