Christmas Tree - The tree was used symbolically at Christmas the following year when the villagers saw the fir, and by then had all converted to Christianity - the evergreen represented the everlasting love of God, and the tree, with its pointed top represented the prayers of Christ/the failthful going to God in heaven.
