drinks - There are five national appraisal conferences of famous- brand alcoholic drinks and liquors since 1949. The conferences aimed at accelerating the progress of technology and improving quality. Besides those national famous alcoholic drinks, which symbolize the highest quality of China there were also some other selected high- quality products. The 1st conference was held in Beijing in 1952. It's organized by China Monopoly Industrial and Commercial Company. Eight brands of national famous products were selected, including four alcoholic spirits, one rice wine, three wines. The 2nd one was held in Beijing in 1963, organized by National Dep. of Light Industry. The appraisal regulations were made for the first time and 18 national famous alcoholic drinks and beverages were selected, including 8 Chinese spirits, 2 rice wine, one beer, 6 wines, 1 liqueers. The 3rd one was held in Dalian, Liaoning Province, in 1979, it was organized by National Dep. of Light Industry. 18 national famous products were selected . The 4th one was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province in 1984. it was organized by Chinese Foods Society. 28 national famous alcoholic drinks and beverages were selected. The 5th one was held in Hefei, Anhui Province, Only 17 national famous products were select from all the Chinese spirits, no other kinds of alcoholic beverages were under appraisal.
