Edelweiss - Edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum) is one of the best known European mountain flowers. The name comes from German edel (meaning noble) and weiß (meaning white). The scientific name, Leontopodium means 'lion's paw', being derived from Greek words leon and podion.
