Why beagles?

Why did you all choose a beagle for a pet, or a favorite dog breed?

jiffy025 because they make a very good family pet. my 2 curl up beside me at night they are a very lovable breed

Can u train a beagle to stay with you in the yard and not run away?

I have an amazing beagle (Jake). He is perfect except for the fact that it slips out of the door he starts tracking and is gone. It is as if he doesnt even hear us calling him. Has anyone trained a beagle to stay with them...
