jollyjeangiant It was put on the money during the Cold War to make it obvious how different we were from the Russians. That was the same reason the phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance.

jollyjeangiant You don't have to care about everyone in the country, that's your luxury, not the government's. Also, God has already left that spot, clearly money (greed, consumerism) has taken the place.

jollyjeangiant Still ignores the polytheists, the atheists, and the agnositics. Just because I'm a monotheist, and just because I think I'm right, doesn't give me the right to shove it down other people's throats. (It's even in the Bible, actually.)

jollyjeangiant Actually the Narnia books were written by CS Lewis that way on purpose, that's why I chose them as an example. I didn't actually realize the parallel until much later; I can't enjoy them now because they don't seem as original as they did before I knew that.
