what other animals besides cats and dogs are good pets for preschoolers?

I am allergic to cats and now we have an issue where the dog is causing bodily harm to them and are trying to find her a new home. I just don't want to deal wtih training a new dog anyways but my kids really want a pet they can...

kamaja Fish are great pets. I just bought my 3 year old some fish and she loves them.
