What is the best way to start living more environmentally friendly?

I would like to start to doing a little more for the environment and would like to hear some ideas about what are good ways to get started? I would probably start with some simple things and build from that.

Do Kanye's actions outside of his music overshadow his musical abilities? I personally think Kanye is one of the greatest artists around, but his overall view seems to be negative due to his comments about Bush and interupting...
