should i stop her? my mother says "take that thumb out of her mouth" i think its cute... and she sucks on it so she can go to sleep. So should i stop her?

Karen I was and am, till today, very orally fixated. I smoke (constantly), bite my nails and, yes, even in my 20's still suck my thumb to the point where I have obvious bucked teeth that stick out even when I close my mouth. My parents spent years trying to stop me...

Karen I'm an adult and suck my thumb a lot. I do it because it feels right, sort of like when you fold your legs over one another when sitting down; it's a posture of sorts. I do it when going to sleep, while sleeping, driving, watching tv, etc. My whole mouth is...

ok dont be shy... i dont see anything wierd if you are an adult and still use a blankie. it is noce to see that we are still young at hearts even if we are matured already. there are things that we get used to at it is a hard...

Karen I know it may seem odd but, yes, I not only use my old "teddie" which is beaten to death and is, now, only a connected set of "legs" and "ears" but still suck my thumb, almost constantly whenever I'm alone, asleep or driving. I've been caught, embarrassingly,...

Karen It's both. I suck my thumb because, well, sometimes it's just automatic, like when I go to sleep, other times it's 'cause I like to, when watching TV for instance, or driving my car. It feels good, is legal, convenient and, most of all, VERY calming.
