Shopping in Taiwan

I might be going there for a short holiday. Can anyone please tell me the places to visit? Where to shop & which time of the year is best for their summer sale?

leowsoosan I am going to taiwan next week. I have done some research on that. You can go to their "Xilin" night market to try their local food. Besides that you can go "wu fen pu" for shopping. There is a lot of cheap stuff there.

leowsoosan yes... I am a Malaysian Chinese and I try to cook chinese style spaghetti before. I fried spaghetti with beef and ginger and topping with a fried egg. It's really yummy.

how would you rate your food safety?i know someone who never washes thier fruits & vegetables after bringing them from the market because shw/he believes that they're washed at the store...how about eggs,peaches,melon are these...

leowsoosan oh... I must wash my fruits & vegetables before I eat them. This is a pratice in our country and nowadays people also try to use some liquid to wash their vegetable.

leowsoosan love to eat garlic too but i hate the smell left in my mouth after etating it. I love to serve raw garlic with "Bak Ku Teh" (is an chise herba soup cook with pork). It is so yummy... once you try it you will love it.
