Why on earth would people, i'm not talking about bands or sites for layouts or other websites, etc. but any random, normal person, why in the world would they want to have 500, 1,000 , more than that number of people as friends?...

I live in Jacksonville Florida and I was just trying to find out if there is any way to find other users who live close to you that you can talk to or do you just talk to people to find out where they live and get lucky to find...
