Liliac26 That's true. Also, there are people who are abusive to dogs and then complain about them, when they're the ones who made the animals behave aggressively in the first place. I just wish that animal rights would matter more in our society!

Liliac26 I know. That's a huge problem. There really should be drastic measures taken against this practice. But even if something is done, some will still continue to abandon puppies. It's so sad, really.

Liliac26 Exactly. There are thousands of dogs on the streets, and people who live in towns and cities don't normally have much space. And many of them can't afford to keep pets.

Liliac26 The government has fought for this law. It took a long time for it to pass (and I was even naive enough to think it won't). If they wanted this to be solved quickly, they should have worked with the animal groups, not against them, for a solution everyone...

Liliac26 That would be a solution, yes. The stray dogs will be chipped, as far as I'm aware, but then they will still be killed if not adopted. And the law makes adoptions almost impossible. I absolutely agree about the fines. One of the things that bother me the most...

Liliac26 Unfortunately the law has already passed. It only remains for the president to sanction it. Animal lovers will continue to protest, so maybe there is still hope. You're right, nothing good will come of it, I just wish more people will understand this.

Liliac26 Those in my area aren't, I can't speak of other places. The truth is that a lot of people do complain and are very frustrated. Where I live is very populated and the dogs are used to strangers. There's a bigger issue in more isolated areas. But, yes, I suppose...
