Can anyone recommend a great historical fiction book? If so, without giving away too much of the plot, what was so great about the book? Please also provide the author's name.

ricsem Historical fiction seems like an oxymoron lol. Anyway, Even before the movie 300, I have liked reading "Thermopylae" by Ernie Bradford. It is, of course, about those 300 spartans led by King Leonidas against thousands of Persians.
