My dog is going to be 3 soon and the only thing she knows is her name and "go to bed" I'd like to teach her to come when called and to stay down. Any tips would be welcome.

ButtrflyDreams You train an older dog just like you would train a puppy. It just takes a little longer because they're not at their prime learning stage. So it will make it a little harder. But they still learn the same way. I got one of my dogs when he was almost 2....

My daughter didn't take it much, but as soon as the bottle went all the sudden it was her best friend. I just saw a 5 yo the other day with one and umm let's just say I don't want that to be my kid!

kristypants If you can put up with a couple of days of fussyness, I'd just take it away from her cold turkey. After a couple of days she'll forget about it and move on. That's what I did with my daughter. It might be harder if she uses it for comfort to fall asleep...

ambkeb I think I would be making a call to the school. I understand that sometimes a child acts like something is wrong at home, then there should be something done. Also, ask the child if maybe they might have said something that could have been taken the wrong way....

jmcafam I think I would contact the teacher as well as the principal and ask the reason behind the questions. You as a parent have the right to know what is going on.
