I was so thankful that the situation wasn't that bad....I did receive a letter from the City today....I'll be posting more info later since I've been a bit busy these past few days.

I would assume that the fire department to give me time to put up drywalls as recommended. However, I don't know what the City will have to say about my basement. I hope it's the same as the fire department's recommendation and that the City won't take legal...

Why do good landlords couldn't find good tenants? You've been in a far worst living accomodation compared to the tenant renting my basement who've called the fire department and the City...and not to mention that the unit is fully renovated - brand new...

You really have a good point there TeamCholent....don't think that the City would take legal action against me without giving me a chance to repair or renovate what is needed to be done first. Unfortunately, the same tenant is still living in my basement...

Oh, we actually haven't had any good sleep these past few days because of that. I did book an appointment to meet a lawyer tomorrow so hopefully something good will come up....cross fingers...*sigh*
