navydragon Well, Turion 64 X2 are already dual core and 64 bit ready, so you can install 64 bit O.S., they also have 1mb L2 Cache and 1600MHZ hyper transport, so they really are pretty much more powerful than the athlon.

navydragon well i can pretty much relate with you right now. although we can't help but be affected by many factors, we just have to remember that what matters most is that we like what we are doing, and being paid while we're at it. ;)

Vista Service Pack 1?

i installed this service pack update, and was wondering what changes were really made by this update. Anyone who also updated? and does this solve the 4g ram issue in the 32bit version?

navydragon well if you're on 32bit version of vista and has 4g of ram installed, vista will only show that you have around 3-3.25g of ram, and not the whole 4g..

navydragon just as I thought, I just had that idea because i read somewhere that after installing sp1, 4g of ram showed in 32bit version, and as i suspected, it is just a false claim, was planning to upgrade to 4g ram but i think that there's no sense in doing so since...

navydragon but my friend over here already updated his video card to 8600m gs and he ordered it also from a chinese seller, i am also in touch with somebody in china who carries a 8600m gt card and says that it is also compatible with the laptop and can sell it to me....
