Apart of arbitrariness, can somebody please tell me why does it have to be "a glass of milk" or a "cup of coffee"? I mean, do we really have to use a "glass" when we make some milk and a "cup" when we make some coffee? Funny,...

nicear i've never thought about it, but it's really very interesting.i like drinking milk and coffee.i use both glass and cup for milk and coffee.But i still say "a glass of milk" or "a cup of coffee",i also say "a cup of tea" and never say "a glass of tea".:P
