What The Heck Is Blue Tooth, Anyway?

Can someone tell me a bit more about Blue Tooth? What does it do, and how do I use it? My LG 550 Fusic cellphone has the option, and I don't know what to do with it. Please let me know how it is useful.

oinedes Because its a short range maximum of only up maybe 100 meters. For mobile phones their using the 0.13 micron CMOS, with the dimension of 4.5 x 4.5 millimeters.
