Pacquiao on the spotlight with politicians; other boxer snubbed

Ali Atienza and his party was too eager to gain politically from Pacquiao's motorcade that Bernabe Concepcion, who was supposed to appear beside Pacquiao after ALSO winning the fight, was nowhere to be scene. True enough, we had took pride from Pacquiao's winning but what was bluntly revealed was the most infamous truth of all- politicians have exploited Pacquiao too cunningly.

Well that's the nature of almost if not all, politicians, to be opportunistic. Ride on the popularity of somebody's achievement.

That's really sad to see that he is so much being pampered by these people who are taking advantage of his popularity. On the other hand it seems Pacquiao also enjoys them around him as he also is given some kind of special attention to his career as an athlete and as a politician this coming May elections. Let's just hope and see how will the people of Gensan vote this coming election. It seems Pacquiao right now is floating on his money and politicians do make their move while the money is still there for the taking. they would not benefit from it if pacquiao would not run in the elections. So I do hope pacquiao will learn from his decision in whatever the outcome would be.

the motorcade and the whole victory welcome thing is too political... mayor lito atienza and his candidate son ali atienza was all over the place... the motorcade even looked like a political campaign of ali atienza with manny pacquiao as his celebrity endorser... eventhough manny and the atienzas deny it, it was too obvious...

I saw the news earlier this evening, I feel sad for Bernabe. He also give honor to this country as much as manny did because they are both winners. I admire Bernabe, i know he must have felt taken for granted and hurt, but he did not made any snide remarks and just remained cool. I guess he understood that since it was Manny is ..well still the bigger star than him. But the way he was treated was really annoying. Yeah, it did not look like just a heroes welcome but a political campaign! Some politicians as we know by all means will use anyone who is a BIG sensational to get the people's vote - at this time, it just happen to be Manny Pacquiao. I really doubt, if the Atienzas would be giving Manny that treatment if ever he lost that fight.

I hope our country men will see the capability of the candidate, and not the who endorse him or who is beside him in the eyes of people. We must be very intelligent nowadays and not see endorsers but the candidate they endrosed

Yes. I saw the news. I didn't know whether to feel sad or annoyed. Bernabe was marginalized. Lito Atienza later claimed on the news that all was prepared for him, and circumstances were to be blamed. But we know better, don't we? I was just too annoyed with Ali Atienza and Lito. The way they pinned Manny between them while relegating Bernabe to the sideline. Just goes to show that they don't really care about the Honor bestowed by the winners (had this been the case, Bernabe would also have been recognized), but more on the utility they could get.
